PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain gasoline capable of reducing photochemical reactivity and harmful property by lowering ozone production ability of evaporation gas discharged from automobile and reducing benzene content. SOLUTION: In this lead-free gasoline, evaporation gas ozone producing index X expressed by the formula, X=Σ(Ci×MIRi )+1.6×PVP [Ci represents concentration (wt.%) of the component (i) of a 2-6C olefinic hydrocarbon or a diolefin-based hydrocarbon and MIRi represents MIR value (gO3 /gNMOG) of the component (i) and RVP represents vapor pressure (kPa) of lead-free gasoline and is expressed by the formula 40<=RVP<=100] and harmfulness index Y of evaporation gas expressed by the formula, Y=BZ×(0.0715×RVP-1.045) [BZ represents benzene concentration (wt.%) contained in the lead-free gasoline and RVP is same as above definition].
