<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quicken the formation of image by elevating a sheet stacking part when a human body sensor has sensed any physical portion, and sinking the stacking part when no human body is sensed. SOLUTION: An elevating/sinking motor is operated counterclockwise when a human body sensor is on and a rise sensor 30 remains off. A swing arm 26 thereby raises a sheet stacking part 24 to cause elevation of the sheet position, so that it is possible to quickly transfer to the start of sheet feeding. When the operator moves apart from the body of copying machine, the human body sensor is turned off, and the elevating/sinking motor is operated clockwise upon checking that the sensor 30 is on. Accordingly the swing arm 26 rotates clockwise, and the stacking part 24 begins sinking together with the sheets S. Thus the sheets S are free from risk of being curled or contaminated by the pressure of a sheet feed roller 29.</p> |
