<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical card consisting of an optical recording member embedded in the recessed part of a card base material. SOLUTION: This optical card includes an optically recording member 5 with an optically recording layer 4 laminated on a transparent protecting layer 3 by covering a track pattern 2 formed on the lower surface of the transparent protecting layer 3, and a card base material 6, in the recessed part 7 of which the optically recording member 5 is embedded through an adhesive layer 8. The tensile strength of the transparent protecting layer 3 should be the same as or at least, approximate to that of the card base material 6. Alternatively, the difference between the tensile strengths of both transparent protecting layer 3 and card base material 6 is set to the range of 100kgf/cm<2> or less. Otherwise, the difference between the rupture elongation percentages of both is set to the range of 50% or less. Since the bending stress generated in both transparent protecting layer 3 and card base material 6 when the card is bent, is almost equal, the stress acting upon the corner part of the recessed part 7 of the card base material 6, in which the optically recording member 5 is embedded, is reduced, so that the antibending strength of the card is increased.</p> |
