<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a tool container material, made of a plastic, comprising an extracted component of a bamboo and an edible emulsifying agent, having high safety without coloring, hardly discoloring due to deterioration with light and heat, i.e., excellent maintaining characteristics of appearance and having antialgal and antimicrobial properties. SOLUTION: This tool container material is made of a plastic and obtained by adding (A) an extracted component of a bamboo and (B) an edible emulsifying agent to a resin component used for the tool container material made of the plastic (e.g. a polyvinyl chloride resin). The component (A) is prepared by pulverizing the epidermises of a leaf or a stem of a bamboo, e.g. the genus Bambusa, Chimonobambusa or Phyllostachys with a ball mill, etc., then extracting the pulverized leaf or stem with a solvent such as ethanol, subsequently heating the resultant extract in a vacuum, etc., and thereby removing the solvent. For example, an edible or a natural emulsifying agent is cited as the component (B) and a fatty acid monoglyceride having an 8-16 carbon chain length is especially preferred. Furthermore, the weight ratio of the components (A) to (B) is usually preferably (0.1:99.9) to (99.9:0.1). The total amount of the added components (A) and (B) is preferably 0.1-10wt.% based on the total amount.</p> |
