PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the construction of a handle device of a car door to make compact and lightweight the handle device, at the same time, simplify joint work and to make it possible to obtain certain operation. SOLUTION: Unlocking operation handle 3, handle lever 8 connected to the handle 3 and locking operation lever 7 connected to a door lock device are pivoted on a base member 2 fixed to a door panel with a shaft 4 turned to the vertical direction parallel with the door panel. A sub-lever 13 loaded to the handle lever 8 is moved between a position in a turning locus of the locking operation lever 7 and a position out of the turning locus by operation of a locking and unlocking operation device 5 provided to a proper position of a door to maintain or release the connection between the handle lever 8 and locking operation lever 7.
