A hand-held shower attachment (40) with shower head (44) contains a lever (64) which pivots around a transverse axis (66), with which lever (64) a valve spool (50) may be shifted from a neutral position in opposing directions. The hand-held shower attachment (40) is connected to a number of hose lines (78) which comprise a pressure-water supply hose, a return line and two control lines. By slewing the manual operating element (74), one control line in each case is connected to the pressure-water supply line, which opens a control valve in order to raise or lower a lifting plate of a bath lift. Rotating the manual operating element (74) around a vertical axis (70), causes the valve spool (50) to be rotated by approx. 90.degree. around its longitudinal axis, as a result of which said valve spool (50) connects a water passage (84) leading to the shower head (44), to the pressure-water supply line (80). The hand-held shower attachment (40) thus serves as a remote control unit for raising and lowering the lifting plate of a bath lift and has its own switching element for activating shower operation.
