The cupboard comprises one or more top and bottom crossbars (11,12) and two supporting columns, together forming a frame. Each column comprises two tubular halves (4,5) joined by a hinge (6). Further hinges (7,9) join the halves to the crossbars. Each hinge can be in two parts, each with a portion at the mouth of its respective tubular half. One of these parts has an additional portion which can be mounted at the mouth of the half to which it is not connected. A connecting component secures the two parts permanently together, while allowing relative movement.
