<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture an exhaust gas filter of superior filter properties, small thermal expansion coefficient, superior resistance to heat impact and also superior resistance to heat. SOLUTION: In the constitution of an exhaust gas filter 21, a main body is of columnar shape, a number of cells 22 are formed in the axial direction all over from the inlet side of exhaust gas toward the outlet side inside the main body, and either the inlet side or the outlet side of exhaust gas for the cells 22 is blocked by a blocking agent 24 alternately, and a main component of the main body is an exhaust gas filter 21 composed of aluminum titanate and the thickness of thin walls dividingly forming the cells 22 is 0.1-1.0mm. The number of cells 22 formed in the axial direction is 4-81 cells per cm<2> of a cross-section vertical to the axial direction, and the void content of the main body is 20-80%, and the average pore diameter is 0.5-40μm.</p> |
