A capacitor having a polypropylene dielectric with a flexural modulus of elasticity higher than 1500 MPa, a loaded sag point higher than 110 DEG C and a Vicat point higher than 150 DEG C. The polypropylene has superior mechanical properties (modulus of elasticity curve M1 in figure 2) in comparison with conventional polypropylenes (curve M2), as well as enhanced dimensional stability (shrinkage curve R1 to be compared with curve R2). A metallised film is provided for making said capacitor.
