The membrane expansion vessel contains a vertical cylindrical pressurised tank with an elastic membrane inside, which separates the water space from the gas space. The tank is equipped with a plug with the external stub of the expansion pipe, and with an assembly and inspection opening and a one way valve, which feeds gas into the gas space. Characterized in that: The elastic membrane (6) has the shape of the lateral surface of a cylinder and it is open and narrowed at both ends. Each of the narrowed sections (7a, 7b) ends with a flange (8a, 8b). The membrane (6) is located coaxially with respect to the tank, along its entire height. The flanges (8a, 8b) of the narrowed sections (7a, 7b) of the membrane (6) are led outside the tank and placed between the flanges (5a, 5b) of the bottoms (2, 3) of the tank, equipped with plugs (9, 13) screwed to the above mentioned flanges (5a, 5b). A perforated or reticular partition (15) is secured between the membrane (6) and the cylindrical lateral wall (1) of the tank. The partition is coaxial with respect to the membrane (6), along its entire height.
