A number of mobile equipments communicate with a number of base equipments by radio. The controller switches the communication path between the PBX and base equipment so as to supervise the state of the latter and operate the CT-2 CAI protocol. Within the controller, a principal control oversees its operation and a signal processing module produces different clocks, a double tone multiple frequency and a codec control signal. A line interface operates a connection with the public exchange network or an extension of the private exchange and a protection as well as an S interface with base equipment to send signalling data from the base equipment to the principal control.
