A pyrimidine derivative having the formula: wherein X is a halogen atom, a lower alkyl group or a phenoxy group (wherein said phenoxy group may be substituted by halogen, lower alkyl or lower alkoxy), and R is a hydrogen atom, a lower alkyl group, an alkoxyalkyl group, a benzyloxyalkyl group, an alkoxycarbonyl alkyl group, a cyanoalkyl group or a group (wherein R<1> is a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl group, and R<2> is a lower alkyl group or a phenyl group which may be substituted by nitro), or a salt thereof.
