A vehicle suitable for use on both roads and railway tracks and comprising a road vehicle chassis positionable on two bogies provided with fastening members. Retractable centring and locking mechanisms are used to form wagons that meet rail transport standards. The vehicle may be converted in self-contained manner from the road configuration to the rail configuration and vice versa.
