The present invention discloses a dough spreader having a generally U-shaped handle, a generally flat rectangular base, and a couple of rectangular projections downwardly suspended next to two of the base edges. The projections are of about .3175 cm in thickness to allow that a dough optimum thickness is spread over a "tamal" leaf. Each one of the projection ends is chamfered to allow that a smooth beginning of the spreading process takes place.
