An optical fiber connector for stable connection of an optical fiber with a tensile cladding. The optical fiber connector includes a ferrule (14) for holding an optical fiber, connector plugs (10) equipped with a housing (16) for accommodating the ferrule, and a connector adaptor (20) for connecting the connector plugs with each other. The optical fiber has the form of an optical fiber cord (12) with a tensile cladding. The optical fiber (120) and the tensile cladding (123) are fixed to the ferrule (14), and the ferrule is fastened to the housing (16).
