A valve for a container suitable for containing a pressurised substance is disclosed. The valve comprises a valve body and a control rod that is movable within the valve body between a valve opening position and a valve closing position when the container is in a normal use position. The valve further comprises a gravity-responsive movable member for disabling the valve when the container is moved out of the normal use position beyond a predetermined point. Said movable member (5) engages the control rod (3') when said container is moved out of the normal use position beyond said predetermined point, and positions itself between the valve body and the control rod when said rod is urged into said valve opening position.
