<p>A process for coating an electrical non-conducting plastic component, e.g. a polypropylene or polyethylene material, comprises a pretreatment stage and an electrostatic spray lacquer phase. The pretreatment of the surface comprises fluorination. The surface is then subjected to an electrostatic spray lacquering technique, esp. a high rotation hydro-lacquer sputtering technique.</p>
