The boosting process is applied to a four-stroke IC engine with turbosupercharger, with exchangeable cylinder sleeves. The internal dia. of the lower sector (13) opposite the piston rings (17) of each cylinder sleeve and the dia. of the lower part (16) of each piston in which the piston rings are fitted are increased by at least 0.8% from what they were initially. The piston (10) is stepped. Its upper part, in the unaltered-dia. sector (14) of the cylinder sleeve, is built out to form a fire step allowing a throttle clearance. The compression cavity is so designed that the enclosed air can be compressed to a higher pressure than the max. pressure in the combustion chamber.
