The profile plates (1) are outwardly convex in longitudinal profile, are placed together at their insides and hermetically sealed at the periphery by join (3) round a vacuumed interior (2). The plates are joined together so their longways profiles are offset by 90 deg. the ends of the profiles being walled off so as to form part of a cylinder whose concave sides point inwards into the profile camber. When several types of profile are joined up so the profiles run the same way, a seal is provided between the profiles and the various profile types are held in a frame. The cylindrical walls (4) of the profile plate are directed toward the surrounding flange (1'), using the rim join to seal off the contained vacuum in space. In the offset arrangement, the profiles make point contact only.
