<p>A refrigerating machine consisting of a variable-volume pressure generating chamber (30) for generating pressure waves in a pulse tube (55) via a thermal regenerator (53). Heat is extracted from a cold source (57) and delivered to a hot source (58) to provide correct adjustment of the apparatus. The variation in the volume of the chamber (30) is caused by the circular translation of a moving part (32), thus avoiding the wear and lubrication problems typical of pistons commonly used for the same purpose. The moving part (32) and a facing stationary part (31) may have walls with an arcuate, sinusoidal or spiral cross-section.</p> |
