The device has a sensor which is supplied with energy from an auxiliary current supply. The sensor is connected to an electronic analysis device (3) for transmitting signals. The analyser derives a measurement signal from the transmitted signal. An input device is associated with the analyser (3) to input a target measurement value. The analyser (3) controls a control member via an output device when the measurement value reaches the target value. The analyser (3) is driven by a current which is taken from the current supply of the sensor. The analyser (3) may be connected to a display, e.g. an LCD display, to display the target and/or actual measurement values. The analyser may be e.g. an analog to digital convertor or a current to voltage convertor.
