The axial piston machine has first and second groups (4,5) of pistons (6) with a lifting swashplate (3) between them at an angle to the turning axis (D). and connected to a machine shaft (2). Each piston has two axially spaced sectors (6a,6b) in opposite borings, connected by a bridge sector (7). There are two supporting bodies (8,9), one either side of the swashplate. These bodies are in the form of segments of a sphere with their central perpendiculars co-axial with each other.
