<p>The process applies to a printing roll (30) on which the surface of the printing form (32) round the roll can be fixed by shrink-fitting. The holding force is enhanced by creating at least part of it by means of a partial vacuum applied through a surface structure (40) of the roll. The partial vacuum is created by a suction device (34-36). This device can be connected to the surface structure of the roll. The printing form cannot move relative to the printing roll surface when it is in the working position.</p>
