The present invention relates to a piston pump for a hydraulic system with a cylindrical bore (2), a pump piston (3) reciprocating in said cylindrical bore (2) which delimits a working chamber (10) as a movable wall, and an inlet valve (6) closing in the manner of a check valve which has a closing member (12) and a valve seat (11), in which the closing member (12) is pre-loaded by a valve spring (13) arranged in a spring housing (14) which co-operates on the one hand with the pump piston (3) and on the other with a pressure spring (4) which pre-loads the pump piston (3), in which the spring housing (14) is secured to the pump piston (3) and the pressure spring (4) to the spring housing (14), and at least one of these joints is frictional or positive.
