<p>A process for producing a polyacetal copolymer by copolymerizing trioxane as the principal monomer with a cyclic ether or cyclic formal having at least one carbon-carbon bond as the comonomer, wherein a heteropoly acid or an acidic salt thereof is used as the polymerization catalyst in an amount of 0.05 to 100 ppm (by weight) based on the total amount of the monomers and the copolymerization is conducted by premixing the catalyst with part or the whole of the comonomer and adding the liquid mixture thus obtained to trioxane. According to this process, the yield of the polymer and the degree of polymerization (molecular weight) thereof can be enhanced and a polyacetal copolymer improved in stability can be obtained.</p> |
