BATTERY PACK HOUSING DEVICE AND BATTERY PACK

A battery pack housing device which is used for a battery-driven electric or electronic apparatus. The housing device is provided with positive terminals and negative terminals and has a first mounting state where the device is connected to a battery through one set of positive and negative terminals, a second mounting state where the device is connected to a battery through the other set of positive and negative terminals, a third mounting state where the device connected to the battery in both the first and second connecting states, and a fourth mounting state where the device is connected to the battery through all positive and negative terminals. When this battery housing device is used, a battery pack can be changed for another pack without interrupting the power supply to the electric or electronic device. Since the electric or electronic device is not required to have an auxiliary power source, such as a sub-battery, etc., the power supply system of the device including a DC-DC converter and a charging circuit can be unified. Therefore, an electric circuit of the system can be simplified and the inside space of the device and, accordingly, the cost of the device can be reduced.
