The flood lid comprises a steel or aluminium sheet (1) which is curved and is protected against rust. On the inner side of the sheet the flood lid has several bracing ribs (7) and on its outer side it has one or more handles (6). The lid also has a U=shaped semi-circular or semi-cylindrical frame to which the sheet is welded (2). The frame is rotatable and is connected to the sheet along all its sides and the frame also serves as a stopper (3). There is also a pressure resistant tube which lies in the frame which, when inflated, acts as a seal and as an immovable assembly connection.
