摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a cylindrical battery with a high utilization factor and a high discharging capacity rate by spirally winding an electrode prepared by filling an active material in a belt-shaped three dimensional metal porous body so as not to fill the active material to the one surface of the porous body with the surface where the active material is not filled faced inside together with a separator and a counter electrode. SOLUTION: An active paste material is applied to a belt-shaped spongy metal porous body having three dimensionally continued pores (porosity is about 95%) so that the active material is not filled to the one side surface 8 to form an electrode A. The electrode A is used as a positive electrode 5, the positive electrode 5 is spirally wound with the surface 8 where the active material is not filled faced inside together with a separator 6 and a negative electrode 7 to constitute a spiral electrode group, and the electrode group is inserted into a case, then an electrolyte is filled therein. A cylindrical battery with high utilization factor and high discharge capacity ratio is obtained.
