PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve extent of detecting accuracy in a shift lever position detecting switch, in this shift unit combining both automatic and manual shift modes. SOLUTION: This shift unit is equipped with an I pattern setting a select position of an automatic shift mode, an H pattern setting a shift position of a manual shift mode, both X and Y axes making a shift lever 1 rotatable in both longitudinal and lateral directions along these I and H patterns, two detent mechanisms 71, 129, and two switch mechanisms 70 and 120, respectively. A detent mechanism's cam 71 and a plunger part 129 linking up with this cam, and a switch mechanism's switch 70 and its operating part 120 are unified as one body and thereby are installed in a retainer 13 interlocking with a rotation around the Y axis of the shift lever 1 and a cross joint 12 uninterlocked, respectively. |
