PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To arrange the sharpness of an image reproduced by an image reproducing device in the directions of X, Y to be nearly constant in the interpolation arithmetic operation in the case of magnifying original image data by a prescribed magnification factor. SOLUTION: Interpolation arithmetic processing is applied to each of picture elements arranged as a lattice at a prescribed pitch in the directions of X, Y and whose values indicate original image data D to obtain interpolation image data whose picture element pitch differs from that of the original image data D, the interpolated image data are fed to a thermosensing recorder 28 in which the image is reproduced through X, Y scanning as a hard copy 29. In this case, different interpolation arithmetic processing is applied in the directions X, Y depending on a difference from the response in the directions X, Y of the thermosensing recorder 28 by a method such as a Cubic spline and a B spline. Thus, the final responses of the image in the directions X, Y are arranged nearly equal to each other in the thermosensing recorder 28. |
