<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To artificially produce an essential oil component of sandalwood in the callus growing process of culturing the leaf tissue of a sandalwood. SOLUTION: This method for producing an essential oil component of a sandalwood consists of the process of planting the leaf tissue of the sandalwood on a solid medium containing a hormone in the combination with 2,4- dichlorophenoxyacetic acid as an auxin and a kinetin as a cytokinin, and a carbon source, the process of subcalturing the cultured calli on the solid medium in a section added with the same hormone, and the process of extracting the essential oil component of the sandalwood from the grown calli. By this method, it becomes possible to produce the essential oil component of the sandalwood throughout the year.</p> |
