A knife edge abuts on the support surface and is limited by a pair of edge surfaces. It cuts off branches and twigs from the timber trunk when the knife blade is moved relatively to the trunk in a cutting direction parallel to the trunk longitudinal extent. - The knife edge (32) is displaced outwards from the tree trunk through a formation (36) in the support surface (40). The formation extends parallel to the support surface or insignificantly converges towards the tree trunk in the cutting direction. |
