PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power consumption by providing a first timer for setting on-and off-intervals for intermittent reception and a second timer, for which the on-interval is longer than that of the first timer, to be operated after carrier detection. SOLUTION: While controlling the 'on' and 'off' of a power source 13 at the intervals set by a first timer circuit 1 under the control of a power supply control circuit 14, inputted radio waves are demodulated and transmitted to a CPU 20. Only when an interrupt signal from the circuit 15 is inputted, the circuit 14 is controlled, the power source 13 is turned on, and the presence/ absence of carrier is checked. When there is no carrier, the circuit 14 is controlled to stop supplying power to a radio part 12, radio equipment itself is turned to a standby state and power consumption is suppressed. When the presence of carrier is judged, a second timer circuit 16 is operated and during that operation, received data are monitored at all times. Thus, even when data can not be completely caught, the equipment always starts and monitors the received data only while the circuit 16 is operated. |
