PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent discharge from side surfaces at both ends of a roller member at the time of impressing voltage, to obtain a nip surface which is flexibly deformed to uniformly contact with a photoreceptor drum, to stably transfer charge between the roller member and the photoreceptor drum and further to stably obtain a high-quality output image. SOLUTION: The outer peripheral surface of a core bar 2 is coated with a conductive elastic body 6 and further the elastic body 6 is surrounded by a surface coating layer. In such a case, only the outer peripheral surface 6a of the elastic body 6 is coated with a partial coating layer, and the partial coating layer and the side surfaces 6b at both ends of the elastic body 6 are coated with an entire coating layer made of the same or different material as/from the partial coating layer so as to shield the ruggedness of the outer peripheral surface 6a of the elastic body 6, whereby the outer peripheral surface of the roller member 1 becomes smooth. |
