PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To removably mount a seal to an annular groove by a spring force for sealing a gap between outer and inner rings. SOLUTION: A bearing with this seal is formed in the outer ring 2 with an annular groove 4 with a square cross section extending circumferentially of an outer ring to fit the seal. The seal 5 is held in the annular groove 4 by a spring force generated by the elastic deformation caused by fitting the seal 5 in the annular groove 4. The seal 5 consists of a core bar 7 made of an elastic metal plate to fit the annular groove 4 and an elastic seal member 6 integrally fixed to the core bar 7. The elastic seal member 6 composed of a support part 8 held in the annular groove 4 by the elastic deformation caused by fitting the seal member 6 in the annular groove, a seal base part 9 making intimate contact with the peripheral surface along the annular groove 4, and a seal lip part 10 extending from the seal base part 9 until the seal lip part 10 abuts against a surface 14 opposed to an inner ring 1. |
