The present invention provides a filter medium, which contains an electretized nonwoven web of crimped fibers selected from the group consisting of spunbond filaments and staple fibers, wherein the nonwoven web has a Frazier permeability equal to or greater than about 100 ft3/min/ft2 and a density between about 0.01 g/cm3 and about 0.095 g/cm3.
