COMPENSATING METHOD FOR COLOR BALANCE IN DIGITAL DISPLAY SYSTEM HAVING COLOR WHEEL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To compensate color balance by detecting various colors displayed by the display system using a light source and a color wheel. SOLUTION: Various colors displayed by the display system 10 are detected and the color balance is compensated. The desired color balance is designated by a power ratio of three primary colors. Then each power depending on the ratio is compared with actual power of each light from a light source 16 filtered for each color. The transmittivity of each filter is regulated for the compensation of the color balance. A size of the color wheel and a display time for data corresponding to each segment are varied. They are combined to realize the desired color balance.
