PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To analyze a cause to a fault quickly on the occurrence of the fault by separating fault diagnosis into plural process steps and not executing a succeeding diagnosis till each diagnostic result for each process step is decided normally. SOLUTION: As a 1st process for the fault diagnosis, a CPU 14 of a camera control unit 11 and a CPU 2 of a camera head 1 send fault diagnostic communication data 7a, 7b to each other to diagnose data communication systems between the both. As a 2nd process, a synchronizing signal generating circuit 12 of the camera control unit 11 generates a synchronizing signal, a synchronizing signal regeneration circuit 3 controls the phase via multiplexer demultiplexer circuits 6b, 6a to detect a fault. As a 3rd process, a test signal 9 from a changeover circuit 4 of the camera head 1 is sent to video signal processing circuits 5, 13 to detect and diagnose the output level. The diagnosis is separated into plural process steps as above, then plural faults are located sequentially and the fault is detected earlier and the fault analysis rate is improved. |
