摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the irradiation efficiency of ultraviolet by preventing the non-lighting state of a low pressure mercury lamp, the breakage of an electronic ballast, the change of the output of the ultraviolet irradiation of the lamp, the disturbance of the voltage and current waveforms of the lamp, and the like occurring when an output lead wire is long between the lamp and the ballast, and even increasing the ultraviolet output of the lamp relative to power consumption. SOLUTION: An electronic ballast 1 is provided at a distance from a low pressure mercury lamp 6 via an output lead wire 5, and a resonance circuit made of a choke coil 3 and a capacitor 4 is connected to the output side of the high frequency generator 2 of the ballast 1. In addition, the choke coil 3 has secondary winding connected to a direct current power source 10 via a diode bridge 9. The capacitor 4 is sized to be sufficiently larger than the capacitance of the output lead wire of the mercury lamp 6 connected in parallel via the lead wire 5, and to provide capacitor current larger than load current flowing to the mercury lamp 6.
