PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress frequent lens driving by setting time to start the movement of a lens, according to the operation period of a variable power key. SOLUTION: This copying machine is provided with a timer means 2 which is triggered by the operation of a magnification setting means 1 for setting a copying magnification, to output a time-up signal after a specified time is clocked, a lens driving means 3 for moving a lens unit 4 to a position corresponding to the magnification set by the magnification setting means 1 with the time-up signal of the timer means 2 and a timer control means 22 for changing the clocking mode of the timer 21. The timer control means 22 switches and controls an addition mode for clocking the time by the timer 21, in such a manner that the specified time is added to the rest of the time, when a certain time or more in the specified time is clocked by the timer 21, at the time of operating the magnification setting means 1 and a continue mode for continuing the clocking as it is, when the certain time or less in the specified time is clocked. |
