PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease the amt. of the flocculating agent to be used and to reduce an installa tion area by disposing a layer of biological filter media and an oxygen diffusion pipe in a biological filter column and disposing means for subjecting the waste water of car washing to a biological treatment and using the treated water in a settling vessel for backward washing of the biological filter media. SOLUTION: This treating device for the waste water of car washing has a raw water tank 1 which stores the waste water of car washing, the biological filtration colunm 4, the layer of the biological filter media 12 which is arranged within the biological filtration column 4 and is coated with biological membranes on the surfaces, the oxygen diffusing pipe 8 which is arranged in the lower part of the layer of the biological filter media 12 and the settling vessel 13. While the slight amt. of the flocculating agent is added from a flocculating agent port 6 to the waste water of car washing in the raw water tank 1, the waste water of car washing is supplied to the upper part in the biological filtration column 4 by a pump 2. The waste water of car washing treated while passing among the filter media 12 is stored in the settling vessel 13 from a water collecting pipe 7 when the water is aerated by the oxygen diffusion pipe 8. The treated water is passed backward into the biological filtration column 4 via the water collecting pipe 7 by a backward washing pump 18 and the waste water used for backward washing the biological filter media 12 is sent from a piping 16 to the settling vessel 13. |
