FIELD: water purification. SUBSTANCE: porous filtering material constitutes a system of randomly distributed in space structural members rigidly fastened to each other in contact points. The system is arranged in such a way that in the thin front layer there is a system of two mutually permeating phases having different geometric and/or physico-chemical parameters, e. g. principal phase constructing all the material consists of rod-like structural members whose diameter essentially exceeds that of members organizing permeating phase of the front layer, and clear interface between the layers is missing. As structural members, e.g. for principal phase, quartz fibers 1-4 mcm in diameter and, for permeating phase of the front layer, glass fibers 0.25-0.5 mcm in diameter are used. Material possesses its own strength and has apparent density 100-300 kg/cu.m. To prepare porous filtering material, a substrate consisting of principal phase structural members is impregnated with aqueous suspension of other phase members by way of immersing one surface of the substrate into suspension and keeping it there until water appears on its opposite surface. Subsequent heat treatment is effected at 200-300 C for 1-2 h and for further 1-2 h at a temperature equal to temperature of softening of thin members. EFFECT: increased purification degree. |
