FIELD: handling of highly active waste of nuclear power and nuclear-weapon complex. SUBSTANCE: radiation and radioecological safety of nuclear-explosion technique of burial of highly active waste in deep-seated geological formations is enhanced due to placement and dispersal of waste in rocks with definite characteristics, in whose mass there are no water flows, high homogeneity of distribution of radionuclides in the fusion of rocks and creation of favorable conditions for slow cooling of the fusion. The underground chamber is made in the form of a central volume with radially diverging boxes with recesses, in which packages with the objects of burial are placed within the zone of shock-wave fusion caused by a single charge, the free space of the boxes is stopped up by loose glass-forming additions; each box is connected through a radial duct to the burial compartment; the compartments are arranged in the zone of rock crumpling beyond the limits pillar caving; the group of thermonuclear charges is placed in the chamber central volume, the position of their geometric center is selected at a safe distance from the nearest large tectonic fracture; the power of the single charge and summary void volume of the underground chamber are determined proceeding from the safe mean concentration of explosion energy. EFFECT: enhanced radiation and radioecological safety. |
