The system has a matrix CCD array camera with a gyroscope mounted on a moving platform. In principle random movements, which can be large are applied to the camera position. For each position, the images taken are digitised and recorded, and the coordinates corresponding to the angular position of the axis connected to that picture. Each position corresponds to a fixed surveillance point on the ground. The images can be selected and viewed on a screen or printed out. Images not likely to be useful can be filtered out by deconvolution.
