<p>To apply a draw texturising action to a yarn, by false twisting, the distortion point is localised a the yarn during drawing by applying a vigorous rupture or modification in the yarn path. The process temp. is increased at the texturising zone by a surface or component (11) at the same time. This takes up the twist imposed by the spindle as far back as the leading feed. Also claimed is a heater system with a radiant heater at the entry zone (10) in the direction of yarn travel. This is followed by a contact heating zone (11) leading to a deflection in the yarn path to take up the twist, followed by a straight or curved path. This is repeated to give a succession of radiant and contact heat applications, to the end of the heating stage. The final exit zone pref. has radiant heating. Pref. the localised yarn distortion points are formed by preheating and additional yarn deflection, before entering the heater. The rupture or modification to the yarn path is within the heater where the yarn temp. is raised, or near the heater zone where there is the optimum process . The different dia. zones of the heater give the radiant and contact heat effects. They are formed by assembled modules, with handles, on to a cylindrical heating body (15). They are secured at one end to the surface of a removable cap (16), which also has a mounting (17) to lock the modules in positon. Eyelets (18) at the end cap surface (16) to guide the yarns through the heater to guide eyelets at the other end. Interior guides (30-32) carry the yarns through the heater. The module (11) of larger dia. has a guide (30) to bring the yarn against the edge (11a) of the module.</p> |
