<p>The braces consist of two strips (1) of material which pass over the wearer's shoulders and are fastened to the waistband of a garment at the front and back. Each of the strips is made from a non-elastic material in the form of a tube which is folded over parallel to its lengthwise axis, at least at one end. At the back the strips are attached to one or two elastic strips with garment waistband fasteners. The width of each tubular strip is over four times the width of its folded state, and it is held in the folded position by a clip (5). When the upper portion of the strip is unfolded it covers the wearer's shoulder and part of the chest, acting as a garment in its own right.</p> |
