<p>A Solenoid operated actuator comprising a single solenoid coil (3); a first armature (9) movable when the solenoid coil (3) is selectively energised and deenergised; and a second armature (26) movable when the same solenoid coil (3) is selectively energised and deenergised. The actuator may be employed to control the opening of charge delivery and fuel metering valves (21; 8) in a fuel injector (1) with overlapping of the opening time of the charge delivery and fuel metering valves (21; 8) being achievable.</p> |
