<p>A car compass comprising a satellite receiver which generates coordinates of an actual position of the car compass, input means for inputting a desired destination and a control unit which represents, on a display, the driving direction to be followed. The control unit comprises a first digital file wherein at least postcodes and position coordinates related thereto and associated with those postcodes are stored, whilst the control unit, in use, addresses, on the basis of a postcode associated with the inputted information about the desired destination, the first digital file to obtain the position coordinates of the desired destination; determines, on the basis of the position coordinates of the desired destination and the coordinates of the actual position, the driving direction to be followed; and displays an arrow on the display, with the direction of the arrow on the display corresponding to the driving direction to be followed.</p> |
