Poison-baited insect trap

The insect trap comprises a central container (1) that may be made of plastics, and an end seal which has outlets to atmosphere. The container may also have an opening (2), and at least two impact ramps (3), coated over their surfaces with absorbent textile or plastics. The bottom ends of the ramps stop short of the container, so as to leave an opening (2) less than half the container section. Slots (5) can be provided to enable the ramps to be changed. The container can be elliptical, round or polygonal and act as a throughway sluicing lock etc., which has holes, at ground level (7), in its sidewalls (6). Preferably the container base is enlarged to form an outer bottom ring (8), which is covered all round in absorbent textile or plastics. This ring is surmounted by a second larger ring (9), arranged at a height dependent on the type of insects involved.
