FIELD: liquid or gas heaters; gas, oil and chemical industries. SUBSTANCE: gas preheater has housing 1 with inlet and outlet branch pipes, burners 2 made in form of microflame sources of radiant thermal energy and arranged inside housing 1 and gas heating chamber made in form of flame tube 3 manufactured from porous metal body at high heat conductivity with number of longitudinal microchannels 4 increasing towards center; gas preheater has gastight outer wall blackened on the outside to increase area of surface absorbing radiant heat; end of flame tube 3 is provided with fins 5 for preliminary heating of gas by rising combustion products.
